Parents often ask what slime is made of and whether it's safe. Here is exactly what our listings and care sheet say about our slime, so you can decide what's right for your family.
What's in our slime
Our slime contains glue and borax. Depending on the slime, it may also contain colorants or food colouring, clay or air-dry clay, soaps, lotions, shaving cream, glycerin, fragrance oils, snow powder, glitter and scents, and some crunchy and icee slimes may contain metal leaf. Each product page lists the warning for that slime.
Is your slime borax-free?
No. Our slime contains borax, and our slime activator spray is made from borax and distilled water. If you're looking specifically for borax-free slime, our products aren't the right choice.
Is your slime non-toxic?
We don't label our slime as non-toxic. Instead, we list what it may contain and how to play with it safely, so you can make your own choice.
Who it's for
- Our slime is for ages 3 and up.
- It may contain small parts, such as charms, beads and toppers, that can be a choking hazard.
- Slime is not edible. Do not eat it.
Playing safely
- Wash hands before and after playing with slime.
- Younger children should play with an adult nearby.
- Don't use slime if you are or may be allergic to any of its ingredients, and stop using it immediately if irritation occurs.
- Store slime with the lid closed, out of reach of children under 3.
